Which women can be classified as “single mother” and on the basis of which document?
By single mothers should be attributed single women with children, in the birth record of which the record of the father was made in the prescribed manner by order of the mother, as well as widows (widowers) who did not remarry and raise minor children (paragraph 22 of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of March 29, 2001 No. 2 “O some issues of the application of labor laws by the courts “with subsequent amendments).
The basis for providing guarantees to a single mother is a certificate issued by the registry office that, when registering a child, a record about the father of the child in the birth certificate was made by the mother’s surname, own name and patronymic – as directed by the mother of the child. This document defines the status of a single mother.
What benefits are available for single mothers?
Under the new law On Benefits, Allowances for Single Mothers from January 1, 2013 NO.
A single mother may receive the following benefits:
For a child up to 1.5 years
A monthly allowance for the care of the child is supplemented by a surcharge of 75% of the amount of the allowance.
For a child from 1.5 years to 3 years
The allowance to the benefit is 40%.
For a child from 3 to 16 years
From January 1, 2009, benefits for children over 3 years of age are appointed and paid in full, provided that the average total income per family member per month for 2008 does not exceed 60% of the approved subsistence minimum budget (BPM) and in the amount of 50% of the established benefit, if the average total income per family member per month does not exceed 80% of the BPM.

Depending on income, single moms may receive state targeted social assistance.
To receive targeted assistance, the average income per family member over the past three months should also be less than the minimum subsistence budget. The size of the targeted assistance is a positive difference between the average income and the subsistence minimum budget. Targeted assistance is paid from 1 to 3 months, in the year for its appointment, you can apply no more than two times.
What are the benefits of a single mother?
According to Part 3 of Art. 268 TC termination of the employment contract initiated by the employer with pregnant women, women with children under the age of 3 years, single mothers with children from 3 to 14 years old (disabled children – up to 18 years old) are not allowed.

It was previously provided for by Part 3 of Article 265 of the Labor Code, that a single mother raising two or more children under the age of sixteen is given one day off from work a week with payment in the amount of average daily earnings in the manner and on conditions determined by the Government of the Republic of Belarus. Now this is canceled and the order is as follows:
Article 265. Additional day off.
A mother (father, guardian, caregiver) raising a (disabled) disabled child under the age of eighteen, according to her (his) application, one additional free day of work with payment in the amount of average daily earnings at the expense of state social insurance is provided monthly.
A mother (father) raising (raising) two or more children under the age of sixteen, according to her (his) application, one additional day off from work per day is provided monthly with payment in the amount and under the conditions stipulated in the collective agreement.
A mother (father, guardian, caregiver) raising (raising) three or more children under the age of sixteen years old (a disabled child under the age of eighteen years old), according to her (his) written statement one additional day off from work is given with payment in the amount of the average daily wage in the manner and on the conditions determined by the Government of the Republic of Belarus. The right to provide additional free days may be used by the mother (father, guardian, guardian) or divided by these persons among themselves at their discretion.
If the employee is simultaneously entitled to an additional day off from work and an additional day off from work, then this day is granted at the request of the employee according to one of the grounds.
