Adventures in Alaska
Arrive at Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska. Transfer from the airport to the hotel, free evening.
Day 1 Acquaintance with Anchorage. Our excursion program includes a city tour, a visit to the Native Heritage Center, which contains unique exhibits of the history and culture of Alaska, Alaska Zoo.
Day 2 Heading from Anchorage Talkeetna, we stop to visit the village of Eklutna to see the unique ancient Orthodox cemetery, and the old Russian wooden church of St. Nicholas. The city of Talkeetna is the launching pad for all ascents to the highest mountain of North America – Denali (which means Great from the language of the local Indians of Athabask; or, as tourists call it, McKinley). Height 6,194 meters above sea level. This is the only place where you can hire a specially equipped excursion plane, fly around McKinley and land on the glacier in the base camp of climbers! Day 3 On this day we go to the national treasury of Alaska-Denali Park, which occupies an area of about 25
Day 4 Introduction to Denali Park. We will spend the whole day traveling around this unsurpassed natural reserve. We will have the opportunity to see such wild animals as bears, wolves, moose, caribou deer and foxes. Our route passes near McKinley, which will give us the opportunity to photograph this majestic mountain.
Day 5 We leave Denali Park and go to Fairbanks, the most wooden city in America. Here is the country’s northernmost university and the northernmost golf club on the planet. We will take an exotic boat trip along the rivers Chena and Tanana, visit the kennel of sled dogs. Suzan Butcher is a four-time winner of the Iditarod extreme dog race. Overnight at Fairbanks.
Day 6 Continue exploring the city. We will take an excursion to the El Dorado gold mine, during which we will wash gold, we will take a ride on a small train under the nostalgic violin. Then we will visit the University of Alaska Museum, which houses a mummified bison aged 36,000 years.
Day 7 We continue our acquaintance with the magical country of Alaska. Our further route lies parallel to the famous Trans Alaska pipeline, 1,260 km long. On the way, we will stop at a place called Delta Junction or Mile 0 – the end point of the Alaskan Highway. This road is longer
Day 8 Our land part of the program comes to an end, and we set off to meet the famous Alaskan fjords. Stop at the sea town of Valdez.
Day 9 An unforgettable boat trip amidst crystal ice fiords to the magnificent Columbia Glacier, the fastest moving glacier in the world. We’ll see blue-blue icebergs drift off the bay from him. Overnight in Valdez.
Day 10 Today we will go by ferry across Prince William Sound Bay
Day 11 Free day. On this day, you yourself can choose whether to go to the mountains and walk along the glacier called Exit, or swim on a sightseeing boat to the Kenai Fjords National Park. And in case of bad weather, visit the marine reserve – Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge to get an idea of the rich variety of marine life in these parts.
Day 12 Leave Seward and go to the “Russian Alaska”. On the way we will visit the village of Nikolaevsk – the oldest settlement in Alaska, founded in 1820 by employees of the Russian-American Company. Now their descendants live there. We will be able to climb the path to the top of the cliff, on which the old Russian Church, built by our ancestors, is located. Overnight g. Homer.
Day 13 Free day. You will have a wide choice of different activities: you can fly on a plane to the famous Katmai Park, where lovers of exotic photos fly from all over the world for the opportunity to take pictures of bears catching salmon going to spawn. For those who stay at Homer, you can book a kayak tour or a helicopter tour, and you can enjoy the beauties of Alaska from the air. Overnight in
Day 14 Return to Anchorage. On the way, we stop in Kenai, one of the first Russian cities in Alaska. The Wooden Orthodox Church recalls the times when Alaska belonged to Russia. Driving past the town of Girdwood will be able to visit the ski resort Aleyska, and if you want to climb the funicular to the top of the mountain. Night in Anchorage.
Day 15 Our adventure is coming to an end. Airport transfer. Departure from Anchorage.
