At your time, work during pregnancy is a common occurrence. Many women continue to work almost until the birth. Naturally, they try to strain less, to avoid overloads and possible troubles, but they can not always isolate dangerous moments in the sequence of usual actions. And this applies not only to work – it is not a secret to anyone that the woman who came from the service often starts the “second shift”, and pregnancy in this situation usually makes little difference. And if you also remember the dacha, where the earth will give birth by no means by magic … In a word, physical labor, physical effort is an integral part of our life, regardless of how our professional career has developed. Protecting a pregnant woman from any action that requires even the slightest effort is an impossible task, and there is no point in formulating her in just that way. It is much more important for a woman in this position to be different: to realize what efforts will be excessive for her, and try to avoid such circumstances as they may be required. We will try to look from this point of view on familiar situations.

Whether you work or not during pregnancy depends on personal life circumstances. Feasible work under normal conditions does not harm the expectant mother. Moreover, it has its advantages (at least since the fourth month of pregnancy): communication in a familiar professional circle without excessive physical and psychological overload is one of the psychological factors favorable for the course of pregnancy. Fatigue-free work, to which a woman got used to earlier, is not dangerous, and failure in the usual working rhythm can cause significant emotional stress and the appearance of complications. But if the working conditions are difficult, then it is the work that becomes a risk factor for the pregnant woman, which can lead, in particular, to miscarriages and premature labor.
The first 3 months is the most crucial period of pregnancy. At this time, the formation of all the major organs and tissues of the unborn child. It is especially important to take this into account if the woman works in hazardous work. Under current legislation in our country, a pregnant woman is given leave at any time of the year at her will. I recommend you to use it from the 4th to the 7th week of pregnancy, when the organs and tissues of the child are laid most intensively. During this period, women should be especially careful.
Immediately after establishing a pregnancy, make sure that the load during the work was feasible. In severe physical labor, more blood flows not to the placenta, but to the muscles. As a result, the child begins to suffer from a lack of oxygen, which leads to intrauterine hypoxia of the fetus, the birth of a child with low body weight. The following are production factors that may adversely affect the health of the mother and fetus:
- work on the conveyor;
- work on the machine, requiring considerable physical effort or associated with strong vibration;
- great physical stress;
- lifting and carrying weights (more than 10 kg);
- repetitive monotonous movements;
- long standing in a standing position (more than 3 hours a day);
- loud noise;
- excessive dryness or high humidity;
- contact with chemical and toxic substances.
With a combination of several of the above factors, the likelihood of preterm birth increases significantly. If the work of the future mother is associated with considerable physical effort, you can advise her to ask the management to transfer her to easier work or a reduced work schedule. But know: sometimes it is harmful for mother and child not so much physical labor in itself, even hard enough, how much work (not necessarily very hard), combined, say, with strong noise and vibration.
Night work and business trips during pregnancy are prohibited by law.
Loads should be moderate not only at work, but also at home. Here, too, it all depends on the specific conditions. If a woman knows and fulfills the recommendations of doctors on work and rest during pregnancy, and her relatives help her around the house, everything will be fine, but a woman exhausted from work, child care, household duties can give birth to a premature or low-birth baby.
First of all, try not to do such a tedious task at all, like hand washing (and rinsing) the laundry — let the washing machine, the husband, the laundry and
During pregnancy, the center of gravity of the body changes, so some movements should be performed differently. If you used to lift heavy things (bags for example), bending down and not bending your legs, then now the main load should fall on your legs. Try not to bend over, but to squat.
All women who are expecting a child want to put everything in order in the house so that the baby gets into a clean and beautiful apartment. This is natural, but still avoid excessive efforts, be consistent with your physical capabilities. Do not move heavy furniture yourself. And do not decide a month before giving birth to repair the apartment yourself. Not only is the repair hard work, it is usually also associated with the color of the floor, doors, window frames. We have to breathe in pairs of solvents, which is extremely harmful for a pregnant woman and for the fetus. Apartment renovation is the business of a husband, relatives or special workers, but not the expectant mother.
Think of my advice if you have to move, which often happens on the eve of the replenishment of the family. Try to plan a move to mid-pregnancy
Of course, fresh air is useful to you, so don’t refuse to travel to the country, just remember: vacationing in the country and working in the garden are completely different things. You should not carry water from the well and water the beds with buckets, but doing the simple work that can bring joy and pleasure is naturally not forbidden for pregnant women. Pay attention only to the fact that here, as in many other cases, not only the degree of physical effort is important, but also a combination of all other factors: for example, weeding the beds under the hot sun can sometimes do almost more harm than weight transfer. .
And at the end of the article I will allow myself to once again recall some of the truisms: how the fetus will develop depends primarily on the future parents. That is why it is so important to plan a pregnancy. It is necessary to think in advance about the conditions in which it will proceed, decide what needs to be changed and how.
The course of pregnancy largely depends on the relationship established by the expectant mother in the family and at work. Taking care of her psychological comfort is a matter of relatives and colleagues. In order for a child to be born healthy, his mother needs to be surrounded with care and attention, protected from conflict situations, unpleasant experiences, mental and physical overloads, and create the most calm and healthy conditions at home and at work.
