Talk about the conflict in the east of Ukraine is no longer heard as often as two years ago. However, the problem has not gone away. When people try to resume the ruined life, the lack of basic household goods and personal hygiene becomes an urgent problem. That is why even shampoo, washing powder, diapers for a child help to provide home comfort in the current difficult living conditions.
The events of recent years have already affected the fate of 1.8 million people, forcing them to leave their homes. Only in the Luhansk region there are 225,404 displaced families, of which 20,739 people are children. International organizations are actively implementing programs to help people affected by the conflict, this includes the Ukrainian representation of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the international charity organization BF SOS Children’s Villages and many others.
The International Charitable Organization “BF“ SOS Children’s Villages ”, carrying out its activities in the territory of the Luhansk region (both in its controlled regions and in the city of Lugansk), works with orphans, children deprived of parental care, as well as with families found themselves in difficult life circumstances. We provide them with the whole range of assistance, from psychological to material, helping children to grow in a loving environment, and for families to endure the troubles of life and preserve the most important values - hearth, care, children’s laughter.
Programs for strengthening families and family forms of upbringing, which are implemented by SOS Children’s Villages, allow the Foundation to provide targeted and high-quality assistance to those who need it most. And the partnership with the Ukrainian office of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has significantly expanded the scope of activities and the number of beneficiaries in the region.
The aforementioned organizations made a partnership offer to one of the largest players in the consumer goods market, P&G Ukraine. As a result of the partnership, the company launched an unprecedented scale assistance program.&G “Care in every home.” In just a year and a half home care and personal care products P&G Ukraine and the Ukrainian office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the international charitable organization SOS Children’s Villages, FoodBank and others – helped more than 500 thousand people! And this is practically the population of the average Ukrainian city.
Families remaining in the conflict zone and affected by it received 1,200 tons of personal hygiene items and home care products during the program period. The amount of social investment under the program was $ 1.2 million.
At the same time, “Care in every home” was supported not only by financial and humanitarian subsidies of the company.&G Ukraine. Children and adults who have become victims and hostages of the conflict in the East are provided with high-quality psychological assistance, training on the topic of post-traumatic syndrome, support in vocational guidance, retraining and job search, as well as legal advice. For this purpose, qualified staff of the SOS Children’s Villages and UNICEF Foundations, as well as other specialists are involved. In turn, employees of the company P&G take an active part in volunteer promotions.
