All children, without exception, love mysterious, mysterious and unusual phenomena. Most guys like to make interesting experiments, some of which can be put right at home, without asking for help from parents or other adults.

They allow young inventors to visually get acquainted with the properties of various substances and objects, chemical compounds and much more, to understand the causes of certain phenomena and to gain valuable practical experience that can be applied in later life. In addition, some such experiments can be shown as tricks, so that the child can gain credibility among his friends and buddies.

All people in everyday life often use water and absolutely do not think that it has truly magical and amazing properties. Meanwhile, with this liquid you can conduct incredibly interesting experiments with children. For example, boys and girls at home can conduct the following experiments:

  1. “Up the napkin.” Fill a plastic cup with about 1/3 of water. Napkin several times folded vertically, so that a long rectangle. Then cut a piece of about 5 cm in length from it, unfold it and put several dots on it with multi-colored felt-tip pens. You should have a color line, on the one hand, not reaching the edge by 5-7 cm. After that, place the napkin in the water, lowering it with the side on which the color line is located. The child will be surprised to see that the liquid rises up and paints the entire remaining piece of napkin with bright colored stripes.
  2. “Water Rainbow”. At the bottom of the basin, place a small mirror and fill it with water. Take the flashlight, turn it on and direct the beam to the mirror. Try to catch the reflected ray of light with a sheet of white paper, and you will be surprised to find that a bright rainbow has formed on it.

Experiments with fire for children

Special care should be taken with fire, but it is with it that you can make incredibly interesting experiments for children. Try to conduct one of the following experiments with your offspring:

  1. “Rocket”. Take a tea bag and remove all the contents from it. From the shell make a shape resembling a Chinese lantern. Set it on fire with a match and be able to watch a small rocket fly into the air!
  2. “Shadow play”. Light a match and bring it to the wall at a distance of 10-15 cm. Shine a flashlight so as to catch the shadow, and you will see that only your hand and the match will be reflected on the wall. Flame casts no shadow.

Experiments with salt for children

Interesting experiments for children can be carried out with solids, for example, with salt. The guys will love the following experiments:

  1. “Lava lamp”. Approximately 2/3 of the glass should be filled with water, and the rest of it should be filled with sunflower oil. For clarity of the experiment, add a few drops of red food coloring. After that, slowly add 1 teaspoon salt to this container. Watch the result – you will have a bright and beautiful substance resembling lava.
  2. “Salt crystals”. This and other similar experiments for children require sufficient time for them. Meanwhile, the result of such experiments is worth the effort. Prepare a supersaturated brine — a new portion of salt should no longer dissolve in it. After that, lower the wire with a loop at one end into it and place the container in a warm place. After a few days you will notice beautiful salt crystals on the wire.

Experiments with soda for children

No less spectacular experiments for children can be done with baking soda, for example, “Volcano”. Place a small plastic bottle on the table and mold a volcano of clay or sand around it. Pour 2 tablespoons of soda into the container, add about 50-70 ml of warm water, a few drops of red food coloring, and at the very end – a quarter cup of vinegar. Before your eyes the most real volcanic eruption will occur, and the child will be delighted.

Other experiments for children with baking soda can be built on the property of this substance to crystallize. To obtain crystals, you can use the same method as in the case of salt. To do this, it is necessary to prepare a dense soda solution, in which the bulk substance does not dissolve, and then place a metal wire or other object there and leave it for a few days in a warm place. The result is not long in coming.

Experiments with balloons for children

Often, experiments and experiments for children are associated with various properties of balloons, such as:

  1. “Look, he does not burst!”. Inflate the balloon and grease it abundantly with dishwashing liquid at the top and bottom precisely in the middle. With a sharp movement of your hand, pierce the ball with a wooden skirt exactly in these places, and you will see that it remains intact.
  2. “Refractoriness”. Light a candle and place it on the table. After that, inflate the balloon and bring it close to the flame. You will see that it will burst quickly. Pour water into another ball, tie it up and hold it over a candle. After a while you will notice that the ball has become refractory and calmly withstands the flame.

Some interesting experiences with children can be done using chicken eggs, for example:

  1. “It does not sink.” Pour clean water into a glass and put a chicken egg in it. It sinks to the bottom. Then remove the item and dissolve 4-5 tablespoons of salt in the liquid, then re-place it there. You will see that the egg is left on the surface of the water.
  2. “Egg with a hairstyle.” Not all experiments for children are carried out very quickly, some experiments will have to spend several days. From the raw egg, remove the contents and fill it with cotton wool. Place the shells in a tube of toilet paper, pour alfalfa seeds on it and pour them with plenty of water. Put it on the window, and after about 3 days you will notice that your hair began to grow “hairs”.

Experiments with lemon for children

Anything can be used to conduct experiments. Separate attention is also worthy of interesting experiments with lemon, for example:

  1. “Secret Writing.” Squeeze the juice from a whole lemon, put a brush in it and write any words on the paper with it. Let the secret message dry out. A sheet of paper will be absolutely clean, but if you hold it with an iron, all the words will immediately appear!
  2. “Battery”. Wash thoroughly and wipe the lemon. Take 2 pieces of copper wire 10 cm long each and strip them off. Insert an iron paper clip into the lemon and screw one of the wires to it, and the second stick it into the citrus at a distance of 1-1.5 cm from the paper clip. 2 free ends of the copper pieces briefly attach to the contacts of the light bulb, and you will see that it lights up!

Experiments with paints for children

All kids love to draw, but it will be even more interesting for them to conduct interesting experiments with colors. Try one of the following experiments:

  1. “Colored drops.” Take a few small disposable cups, in each of which place 2 drops of BF glue and 2 drops of acrylic paint of a certain color. Stir the ingredients thoroughly. Pour plenty of water into a bowl or other roomy container. Alternately place colored drops in the water, and you will see that they are attracted to each other, forming bright multi-colored spots.
  2. “The sea is worried once.” Take an empty bottle and half fill it with water. Add a few drops of dye, and then pour in about ¼ of the volume of sunflower oil. Close the bottle and lay it on its side. Swing it in different directions, and you will see that waves are forming on the surface of the liquid, resembling a storm.
