The second trimester of pregnancy is coming to an end: the last month of this “golden” and relatively quiet time becomes the sixth month of pregnancy. A woman by this time, probably, has already managed to fully feel the inevitability of the imminent motherhood, to experience that special and incomparable joy associated with the feeling of the first movements of the baby …

The figure of the future mother has changed a lot: the belly has grown significantly, the waist has smoothed, the movements have become smooth. There is a strong increase in weight: the usual wardrobe has become cramped, things made of synthetics are uncomfortable and soaring. So, you will have to go again for new clothes: get even looser and non-stiffening clothes, necessarily – from natural materials, such as flax, cotton, and so on.

The farther, the more difficult the woman is transferred to the heat and stuffiness. During this period, it is important to be in the fresh air as much as possible, preventing the lack of oxygen. It is necessary to rest in sufficient quantity, not be on your feet for a long time and monitor the time spent at the computer. But gymnastics for pregnant women or special yoga classes, breathing exercises will go to Mommy exclusively for the benefit – they will support your body in a tonus and will help to improve your well-being.

It is important to regularly pay attention to the skin, treating it with special anti-stretch agents. Moreover, now the skin is somewhat dry and, most likely, itches because of the gradual tension. In addition, at the next appointment with a doctor, it is worth discussing the issue of preparing breasts for breastfeeding.

Baby six months pregnant

By the sixth month, the child already looks like it will come to the outside world: all the systems and organs of the small organism function, the crumb already hears and distinguishes sounds, makes sucking movements, holding a finger in the mouth, squeezes and unclenches the fists.

In the sixth month, the improvement of the brain of the crumbs continues: it already shows grooves and gyrus, which continue to deepen and more clearly “appear.” By the end of the month, the baby’s brain weight will reach 100 g.

The only still insufficiently mature organ is the lungs: alveoli are still forming on them. But at the same time, a surfactant is already formed in the lungs – a substance that does not allow them to stick together during breathing, and the child himself is already beginning to make a kind of respiratory movements. By the way, if it suddenly happens that a baby for one reason or another is born prematurely, at 6 months, doctors give more than 50% of what a crumb will survive – thanks to a fairly well-developed lungs.

Although the child’s eyes at this stage are still covered with film, he knows how to react to light, opens his eyes slightly. Mimicry of the crumb is developed: on ultrasound you can see how the baby frowns, wrinkles her face, blinks and moves her eyebrows.

The body of the fetus is still thin, but already from this month begins the active accumulation of subcutaneous fat. By the way, the active period of growth in the month of pregnancy is replaced by an intensive weight gain by the baby: every day he will gain about 10-12 g in weight, thus, his weight will double in a month, and sometimes even more.

Strengthening the bone tissue of the child continues, almost marigolds are formed, eyebrows and eyelashes appear. The kid has already chosen and complies with sleep and wakefulness, and in moments of special activity is able to quite significantly kick his mother from the inside. With a particularly strong movement, the child reacts to loud and sharp

sounds, his movement can become more active against the background of mother’s excitement due to the increased amount of adrenaline in the female body in this case.

The baby is now settled up, it is reliably protected by the placenta and amniotic waters. Amniotic fluid is updated every 4 hours, they keep the baby afloat, create a barrier to negative factors and smooth out possible shocks, maintain a comfortable temperature. From time to time, the child swallows the amniotic fluid, pulls them in, “developing” the lungs.

By the end of the month, the growth of the baby will be about 30-35 cm, and the weight can reach 600-700 g.

Sensations and possible problems of the sixth pregnancy

If the pregnancy is proceeding normally, the sixth month will not bring about any special changes in health. A woman feels all the happiness from the upcoming motherhood, “out of joke”, the enlarged belly can hardly be hidden from those around her, but the pleasant small efforts associated with the acquisition of all the “necessities” for a newborn are still ahead. True, mom and dad are already beginning to think about choosing a suitable name for the baby (especially since the second planned ultrasound scan is more likely to tell, girl or boy “lives” in mommy’s tummy) and how to arrange life more correctly and more conveniently .

Some women at this time begin to feel already some fatigue from pregnancy, some have confusion and forgetfulness. The sixth month of pregnancy may be accompanied by minor, but very unpleasant phenomena in the form of back pain or underbelly: the pain is due to the tension of the muscles and ligaments of the uterus, as well as the softening of the vertebral discs.

The increased volume of circulating blood can cause an increased sensation of heat, for the same reason, some moms have increased sweating. In addition, increased blood circulation can provoke nasal bleeding (when small vessels do not withstand blood pressure) or bleeding gums (this phenomenon also indicates a lack of vitamin C).

As the volume of fluid in the body also increases, and the uterus puts more and more pressure on the bladder, an increase in the frequency of urination is possible. Some pregnant women even with embarrassment notice that while laughing or sneezing, the panties somehow get wet by themselves – some urine is spontaneously separated.
