What I eat: my food for the day, as well as my basic principles of healthy, wholesome nutrition, which I always adhere to.
Recently, I received a lot of questions about what and when I eat. And a little less questions about how I manage to “shove” everything useful in my food and make it, as I like to say, “full-fledged” and more “traditional”
So I decided that it is better to write a separate post about your diet at the moment, since it has changed a bit even compared to the previous year. Still, the more I learn, the more my view of the needs of my body and, therefore, of food changes.
Many people know that I am a big fan of Paleo nutrition, do not eat Gluten free and low-fat dairy products and do not support veganism. But I never published what I eat and why.
In a word, if you are interested in what I eat to maintain my health and well-being, well, appearance (where to go without it? – read on, I will reveal all my secrets to you.
My food for the day
Which I do not have. Yes, you read that right. I haven’t had breakfast for almost half a year. This is due to the fact that I practice the so-called periodic fasting. That is, I eat only in the window from 12 noon until 7 pm. Therefore, breakfast automatically falls out.
I adhere to the theory that our ancestors did not have 24-hour access to food and very often wanted or not – they were starving. This is already scientifically proven to launch a powerful mechanism for the recovery of cells and organs and prolongs life and youth.
Lunch or my breakfast
It usually comes about 12 days, plus or minus, depending on what I do on that day. I first drink 1 / 4-1 / 2 cup of homemade Beet kvass and then start preparing my smoothie.
It consists of either homemade kefir (fermented from unpasteurized pasture milk) or homemade coconut. I add keil / spinach / any green leaves, whole avocados (of course peeled and boneless), frozen berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blueberries) and half a banana. Sometimes the berries change to pineapple / papaya / mango.
From the additives in the smoothie goes: Turmeric with black pepper (1 teaspoon), diatomite (2 tablespoons), kelp (1 teaspoon). Also, instead of with a smoothie, I take Omega-3, Maca, Vitamin D3-K2 (because there is not enough sun now), Amla powder, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and recently started taking Chrome.
Lunch or snack
In my case, it comes at 3 hours. This is usually either an omelette of 2-nd eggs with vegetables or 2 boiled eggs, for example, with Indian vegetables I had previously cooked. In short, eggs are required, and everything else is improvisation
I have small portions, I do not pile myself with a mountain, I often eat from small pialok. Also obligatory is homemade sauerkraut (1/2 cup). After that, I eat a small handful of soaked and dried nuts (makademia, cashews, walnuts, etc.) and 1 apple.
I will always come before 7 o’clock, usually at 6-6: 30. I have it quite diverse.
Yesterday, for example, I ate bone broth with lamb and just added fresh broccoli, a lot of garlic (I can’t do anything with myself — I love it) and cilantro. On the side, again, was Sauerkraut, celery and tomatoes, poured with olive oil (first cold pressed) and unrefined apple cider vinegar.
The day before yesterday, I baked a sweet potato (trampoline) in coconut oil with spices in the oven and added 2 fillets of white fish, lightly fried in a pan in butter. Again with sauerkraut. And she made herself a vegetable salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, pepper and cilantro, seasoned again with olive oil (with the addition of red palm oil) and NNI.
Every day I cook something Indian for my husband and occasionally eat Indian dal for dinner – or lentil soup with various Indian spices. And so – I eat a lot of soups and borscht, fish and meat. Also required liver at least once a week!
For dessert, I eat fruit: yesterday there were 2 mandarin cups, today they will be too. We have already started their season. Usually it can be melon, kiwi, orange and so on.
Carrots per day to balance hormones. A slice of unpasteurized cow milk cheese. A teaspoon of honey with royal jelly and pollen.
As soon as I wake up, I always start my day by drinking a glass of water with salt water or sole. It charges my body with electrolytes and restores the pH.
In the afternoon I always drink 1-2 cups of Kombucha, between meals.
I also drink water with ginger and lemon juice.
Recently, I also drink green with tulsi and ginger. I do not drink coffee. Totally.
Of course this is not always the case. On weekends, for example, I cook something delicious for breakfast: usually these are pancakes and pancakes, for example, my husband’s favorite pancakes are Coconut Flour and Tapioca Fritters. We eat them with honey or maple syrup, sometimes with almond oil. And of course tea
I rarely bake desserts, as my husband is absolutely indifferent to them. You can say on special dates or if we go to visit. I do not buy store baking (almost all of it is on margarine), but sometimes I allow myself dark chocolate, or rather very dark (85% or more).
I do not claim that the way I eat should be a dogma and that this is the most ideal and proper diet. We are all individual and what suits me may not suit you.
But, it provides my body with all the nutrients, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants it needs. My food is close to nature and how our ancestors ate.
I am not afraid of healthy fat and high-quality protein, but I limit myself to simple carbohydrates and cereals, because I believe that a diet based on them is one of the causes of chronic diseases. And if I eat cereals or beans, I always prepare them beforehand.
I also try to maximize the amount of fresh vegetables and fermented foods in my diet. And try not to indulge in fruit.
Here are the basic principles of my diet, which I always adhere to:
- “No” refined products
- “No” Gluten
- No Refined Sugar
- Minimum number of cereals
- Large amount of healthy fat
- Do not pass
- Slowly and carefully chew food
- Do not drink excessively more water (for me the rate is about 1 liter per day)
- Always eat and drink fermented foods.
- Do not eat vegetable oils
- Use only unpasteurized, full-fat pasture dairy products
- Eggs every day
