The medicine “Letrozole” (Femara, Femara) – belongs to the group of non-steroidal selective aromatase inhibitors (blockers) and is a third-generation drug. It significantly reduces the level of estrogen in the blood serum, which is necessary in some cancer pathologies and when taking anabolic steroids. Femara is an analogue of Arimidex (Anastrazole), having a similar chemical formula and exerting similar effects on the patient’s organs and tissues. Letrozole is successfully used in oncological disease – postmenopausal syndrome with estrogen receptor positive-positive or estrogen receptor unknown breast cancer. If the drug Tamoxifen does not give the desired result, then use a second-line medication – Letrozole. In some cases, this medication is prescribed immediately, as a first-line medicine.
As it is known, taking anabolic steroids by male bodybuilders and athletes leads to the development of side effects:
- an increase in the size of the mammary glands (gynecomastia);
- fluid retention. leading to edema in the body;
- weight gain due to the proliferation of adipose tissue cells.
Letrozole reduces the manifestation of these problems until completely eliminated.
Letrozole is an advanced modern medicine. It has the strongest reducing effect on the level of estrogen in the blood. Its effect is more powerful than that of non-selective aromatase inhibitors such as Teslac and Cytadren. The standard dose of the active substance of one tablet is 2.5 mg. This amount reduces the hormone estrogen by 78%, which is confirmed by clinical trials reported by the manufacturer. Lower doses of the drug also have a powerful anti-estrogenic effect on the patient’s body. Already 0.1 mg of the substance is able to reduce the concentration of data on female sex hormones by 75% compared with the original figures. Nevertheless, the manufacturer recommends the use of the dose contained in one whole tablet of the drug. Positive data have been accumulated from patients taking the drug in low dosages (single dose of less than 2.5 mg) and receiving the desired effect from the treatment.
