How to effectively keep in feed

A brief overview of technologies and options for insulating the ceiling in a private house. The better to sheathe the attic in the country to save heat.

Ceiling insulation technology in a private house

Thermal insulation of the mineral wool ceiling in the attic of a private house. Houses with a securely insulated ceiling will keep warm in cold weather and, strange as it may sound, cool in warm weather.

If we talk about private houses, almost half of the heat that is in the house is lost through the ceiling, so its reliable insulation can significantly help to keep warm in the winter cold and prevent its penetration into rooms in the summer.

Korme all other things, insulation of the ceiling – it is not only useful, but also cost-effective. This procedure allows you to make your home more comfortable and significantly reduce utility bills.

A reasonable question arises, and how to properly warm the ceiling in a private house and do it at the lowest cost? The market today can offer a huge selection of solutions to this problem. Let’s look at some of them.

The better to warm the ceiling?

Ceiling insulation materials

In order to prevent the leakage of precious heat through the ceiling, many different materials can be used. Many craftsmen use such as slag, sawdust, expanded clay, and even dry grass is used in the villages. It turns out quite reliably, the heat does not go anywhere, and the financial side does not suffer.

But there are some disadvantages to these inexpensive materials. In the dry grass can appear some kind of animal in the form of bugs and spiders, and sawdust tend to rot. If we talk about slag, then although it retains heat well in the house, but with a large amount it can negatively affect the ceilings in the house, and, moreover, radiates a background radiation.

Expanded clay in this case (in comparison with sawdust, straw, and other similar materials) is significantly ahead, although it is significantly losing to modern materials intended for insulation and insulation of premises. Let’s look at this issue in more detail.

Ways to insulate the ceiling in a private house

To solve the problem of heat loss in two ways:

How to effectively keep in feed

  • First, you can warm the ceiling outside the room;
  • Secondly – to warm the ceiling from the inside.

The “right to life” has both ways, since both of them lead, in the end, to the desired result. With the help of these methods there is a significant saving of resources, while the heat remains in the house.

The difference in methods of heat conservation is not only in the procedure of work, but also in the use of different materials for insulation, which can be divided into two categories:

This is a very important characteristic, which indicates how different materials are able to absorb moisture. Possessing information about this characteristic, you can use the material as intended.

Vapor-permeable material is most often used indoors, and the same materials that are vapor-proof, respectively, outside.

The first method – insulation of the ceiling from inside the room.

For work on the insulation of the ceiling from the inside of the room, you can use mineral insulation, in the people it is called “glass wool.” Usually, a roll of glass wool is mounted together with a plasterboard false ceiling, which significantly reduces the amount of heat loss.

Consider the main steps for the insulation of the ceiling mineral wool:

  1. assemble a metal frame for fixing drywall;
  2. mineral wool is glued to the niche between the profiles of the drywall frame directly to the ceiling with special glue (well “holds” the glue for the tile);
  3. sheathe the resulting structure with drywall.

At first glance, this method of insulation seems quite simple, but this is only an assumption. In this technology there are many subtleties that need to be considered.

For example, if you take the insulation itself, you need to remember the fact that when installing it on the ceiling, in no way can it be pressed together. The question arises, why? Yes, because there are special air layers in the mineral wool, which delay the heat removal from the room.

The second method is insulation of the ceiling outside the room.

Warming attic (foam or polystyrene foam), perhaps, this is one of the best ways to insulate a private house.

Because many problems that exist in the case considered earlier disappear. There is no need to install a plasterboard ceiling, the need for unnecessary “gestures” disappears. How to do it most effectively?

  • First of all, it is necessary to remove the attic space from excess garbage. This must be done for one reason – a clean surface is necessary for further work.
  • Then we buy a simple foam, whose thickness should be at least 50 mm. And of course, it should be quite a lot to cover the entire surface of the attic. It is possible to use polystyrene instead of polyfoam, but in this case it will cost much more than polystyrene.
  • We put the foam on the floor surface, and fix the places where the joints of the sheets go, with foam.

How to effectively keep in feed

In principle, if the attic is not used for storing “very necessary things,” then all the work can be completed. If it will be used for storing something, then it is additionally necessary to tighten the floor of the attic with a concrete tie, otherwise in six months the floor will crack from frequent walking. It is also necessary to reinforce the coupler with a special metal mesh, and the floor filling layer should be at least 50 mm.

Choosing from the above two methods of ceiling insulation, think which option is preferable for you. Perhaps, if the house has curved ceilings, then it makes sense to use the first method for insulation, since drywall can cope with the leveling task perfectly. But the second method will be less expensive. But the choice is ultimately yours.
