How to remove rust home methods: 5 ways to help remove stains

Most popular recipes are designed to remove rust stains on white clothes. If you want to rehabilitate a colored thing, first test the tool on some inconspicuous area of fabric, for example, on the inner seam or on an additional piece of cloth, which is often attached to the inside of the product. If you do not, the acid can deal with the thing itself.

How to boil

  1. Traces on a white cloth are well removed with the following solution: Pour 20 g of citric acid in half a glass of water. Heat, but do not bring it to a boil. Now dip the soiled item in a hot solution for 5 minutes. The stain should dissolve.
  2. If citric acid is not at hand, you can replace it with a slice of lemon. Cut a small piece, peel it, and wrap it in clean gauze. After that, place it on the stain and iron it with a hot iron. Important: from the bottom it is better to put a few paper napkins so that they take the main “blow”. After the procedure, wash the product in warm water.
  3. Acetic acid will be a good helper in the fight, more specifically, 70 percent essence. Add 2 tablespoons to a glass of water and heat the solution well, but do not let it boil, as is the case with citric acid. Then put the dirty part of the thing into it for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly in water with ammonia (0.5 tablespoon of alcohol per liter of water).
  4. Vinegar can be used instead of essence. Only it will have to be mixed with table salt so as to make a thick gruel. Generously apply the mixture to the stained area and leave for half an hour. Then wash in warm water.
  5. For colored fabric, use wine vinegar. Just dissolve a teaspoon of the product in a glass of cold water and soak the stain for 5-10 minutes. Then rinse the thing.

How to choose the right stain remover in the store

When buying a rust detergent in the nearest supermarket, please note that simple bleach or any other primitive bleach is not suitable for white fabric. Instead of bringing out the red marks, they just make them brown or brown, and then you can’t get rid of them. Choose substances that include acetic or oxalic acid. Read the packaging carefully to see if this product is suitable for your clothes.

Any household chemicals need to wear gloves. To remove the stain once and for all, apply the product on the stained area, rub until it forms a foam and rinse under running water. If the manufacturer advises to hold the mixture on clothes for a while, do so. Only the oldest and stubborn tracks will be able to withstand such a procedure.
