Preparations with chondroitin and glucosamine belong to the so-called symptom-modifying agents. In medicine, they are widely used for the pathogenetic treatment of osteoarthritis deformans (OA). Preparations with glucosamine (HA) and chondroitin sulfate (CH) are the most popular among all chondroprotectors. It is proved that the simultaneous use of these two substances is much more effective monotherapy. As it turned out, combined action of cholesterol and HA increases the production of glycosaminoglycans chondrocytes in 97% of cases, and the use of only one of them – in 32%.

Chondroitin with glucosamine for joints is more effective when used systemically. Most often, the combined chondroprotectors prescribed in the form of tablets or capsules. All ointments, gels with these substances are ineffective in the treatment of OA.

Drugs that contain chondroitin and glucosamine

Combination drugs belong to the III generation of chondroprotectors. These tools are effective in the treatment of osteoarthritis, in the fight against unpleasant symptoms, progressive destruction of cartilage tissue. The first generation of chondroprotectors includes drugs on a natural basis, the second – monodrugs.
