    Childbirth Allowance

    In 2019, an increase in the amount of assistance for the birth of a child may occur in Ukraine (several laws on raising the amount of payments to the first, second and third children are in the VRU). To date, monetary support from the state is provided to parents who apply to the Department of Social Welfare (USZN) within the statutory period (1 year from the date of birth of the child).

    The total amount of maternity payments is 41 280 hryvnia. However, it’s impossible to immediately receive the full amount of the cash allowance from parents because children’s are paid in two stages. The first one-time assistance (UAH 10,320) is credited to the bank account of the mother or father 1-2 months after the registration of the allowance.     Allowance for single mothers

    The provision of cash benefits for single mothers’ children is regulated by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On Approval of the Procedure for Assigning and Paying Government Assistance to Families with Children”. The amount of payments in 2019 was not increased and, as before, makes the difference between 100% of the subsistence minimum for a child of a corresponding age and the average monthly total family income per person for the previous six months.     Allowance for children whose parents evade paying alimony

    Temporary state assistance to children whose parents evade paying alimony is assigned to a child under 18 years of age. Alimony from the state is provided in an amount equal to the difference between 50% of the PM for a child of the appropriate age and the average monthly total family income per person for the previous 6 months.
