If at the end of the workday, when you take off your shoes, the spreading odor resembles a sports locker room after a difficult game, you may be suffering from bromidrosis (fetid sweat).
Without bringing pain or being contagious, the smell of feet brings unbearable suffering in the society to its owners.
The result is an unpleasant smell from the legs.
Do not worry if you are worried about this problem. It is solvable. Just follow the tips given here on how to make your feet drier and not smell.
Wash thoroughly. The sweat produced by the sweat glands on the soles of the feet consists of water, sodium chloride, fatty deposits, mineral salts and various acids, which are the end product of your body’s metabolism.
Naturally, washing away the bacteria, you suspend this process. Frequent washing of the feet with fragrant soap, and then their thorough drying temporarily eliminate the smell.
Wash yourself within reasonable limits. How often do you need to wash your feet? Often enough to wash away the breeding bacteria, but not too often, so as not to remove the protective layer of the skin.
If your feet smell very strong, wash several times a day. But with peeling and cracks in the skin, reduce the number of swims.
Well wash your sweat. Try the following procedure for sweaty feet. First, take contrast foot baths with cold and hot water so that the blood moves away from the legs and the sweating is reduced.
If you suffer from diabetes or another disease associated with impaired blood supply, do not do this procedure at all.
Salt your feet. For very sweaty feet, try rinsing them in saline (half a cup of coarse salt per liter of water). After that, do not rinse them, just wipe dry.
Use the tools that you use in the armpit. To prevent bad odor from the feet, use deodorants or anti-perspiration products (antiperspirants are best).
Deodorants for the feet, as well as deodorants for other parts of the body, contain antibacterial substances that kill bacteria. Some of them stop the release of sweat (antiperspirants), others – remove the odor generated by the proliferation of bacteria there, others – destroy the smell and stop sweating at the same time.
Try the powder. Sprinkle your toes with a special deodorizing powder. Ensure that it contains aluminum chloride hexahydrate.
Change your socks often. Keep clean feet clean. Wear socks that allow your skin to breathe. (Some experts advise wool or cotton, others acrylic. Try which material keeps your feet dry better.)
If possible, change your socks at least once a day and do not wear one pair for two days in a row.
Choose the right shoes. Do not buy shoes made of hard rubber or synthetic materials, because it does not allow air, and promotes the growth of bacteria.
Wash slippers. Some types of shoes, for example. slippers or linen shoes, washable directly in the washing machine. It is better to dry them in the air, rather than in a tumble dryer.
Air your shoes. Expose your shoes to air out. If possible, change your shoes every other day so as not to wear the same pair for two days in a row. Loosen your shoes, take the tongue out and expose them to dry in the sun.
Handle shoes. Put cornstarch in the shoes. It will help absorb moisture and keep feet dry.
Watch your diet. Vegetables such as garlic, onions and green onions, peppers, can enhance the bad smell of the feet. The smallest particles of products with a strong odor enter the blood and are secreted through the sweat glands. Consuming these products will not solve your problem.
Keep calm. Excitement and stress increase perspiration, giving more food for the growth of bacteria. Stress, stimulating bad odor of the feet, must be combated, also because they have a negative effect on other parts of the body and organs.
