Causes and symptoms of thrush
The appearance of thrush (candidiasis) is a disease in which the number of fungi of the genus Candida is rapidly increasing. It is present in a healthy microflora, but in a small concentration. The reasons for the development of the disease are:
- weak immune system;
- personal hygiene;
- sex with an infected partner;
- hormonal disbalance;
- long-term use of antibiotics;
- action of cosmetics for intimate hygiene;
- uncomfortable underwear with non-natural fabrics.
A weakened immune system cannot stop the growth of pathogens.
With good immunity, thrush does not manifest itself or goes away on its own. If the body’s defenses weaken, the microflora may be disturbed, and as a result, the manifestation of the disease. Often this situation occurs when changing climate zones, or because of the effects of stress. Polluted ecology, chlorinated water and dirty summer bathing reservoirs can also trigger diseases. Symptoms of candidiasis:
- itching and burning in the groin;
- unpleasant sour smell;
- white or yellowish curd;
- rashes and redness in the intimate areas;
- general weakness and fatigue;
- problems urinating;
- pain in the abdomen.
Candidiasis can be asymptomatic, therefore only a gynecologist can make a correct diagnosis after passing the appropriate tests.
